A Raisin In the Sun
A Raisin in the Sun is about an African American living together in an apartment in Chicago. Lena the mother of the family gets a 10000 dollar check from the death of her husband. Through out the play every body is focused on this sum of money even including the kids. There are many opinions that the family has and it is hard for them to decide what to do with it. Mama then decides to use some of the money to buy a house and gives the rest to Walter and Beneatha. Walter wants to start a liquor store and Beneatha puts it towards her schooling. These are some examples of the American dream in a way.
The character that I really liked was mama. She was a nice and caring person and knew a lot about how to live. She did't like how they were living now, because there wasn't enough room for the family to live in the small apartment. Mama wants to build a happy and healthier family, and one thing that they need for this to be better is a bigger house. Mama also has the old fashion point of views and growing up in hard times, she realized it and stayed calm.
Walter had a very different perspective on what he wanted to do with the money. He wanted to open up a liquor store. That didn't go as planned and he ended up losing the money. The family was really mad at him because he blew the money away. Through out life you have to make really hard decisions and very smart decisions and your never ever going to please everybody.

I really like how you said that in life we have to make some tough decisions and they aren't always going to satisfy everyone, but you have to do what you believe is best. I also like that you said even through this hard time, Mama stayed calm and trusted her sons decisions which in the end turned out to work out how their dad always wanted it.
